Occupational Health - Immunisations Required

Before getting you a post we always obtain an Occupational Health Clearance Certificate. This is important and once the initial paperwork has been done, ensures that you can arrive straight at a hospital and start work. Again, we pay for obtaining the actual Health Certificate ourselves but you will need to fill in the Occupational Health Form and get the relevant reports, you can download our form here or you can request us to send it by post.

We need it returned completed and signed by email, fax or post with the necessary immunisations. Non UK reports immunisations are acceptable as long as they are in English and the content is clear for non EPP doctors (see below).

It is essential for all candidates to have the following immunisations and vaccinations and remain up to date with relevant tests and booster injections. Once we have obtained your OH Clearance Certificate we keep an eye on it so letting you know when you need to renew anything.

  • Mumps - Certificate of two MMR vaccinations or a blood test result with titre levels showing Mumps immunity

  • Measles - blood test result with titre levels showing Measles immunity

  • Rubella - Certificate of two MMR vaccinations or a blood test result with titre levels showing rubella immunity

  • Tuberculosis -an Occupational Health/GP certificate of a positive scar or a record of a positive blood test result

  • Chest X Ray,

  • Varicella - a blood test showing immunity

  • Hepatitus B - You must provide a copy of the most recent pathology report showing titre levels of 100lu/l or above if possible or an antigen status if titre level is below 100lu/l. The report must be an identified validated sample.

  • Hepatitus C with titre levels. Evidence of a negative antibody test (EPP only)

  • HIV report if available, Evidence of a negative antibody test (EPP only)

If you do Invasive EPP (Exposure Prone Procedures) HIV, Hep B and C must be done by a UK registered body. Otherwise an overseas body results is satisfactory. We can advise you on this.
