We are also constantly face to face interviewing and doing all the necessary checks to ensure all of our available Locum Doctors become 'NHS PASA/Buying Solutions Contract 'compliant' before we send out any CV's. Hence each week our list of compliant doctors grows, bringing the benefit of having whole new pools of highly qualified NHS PASA compliant doctors eager to work in the NHS. Many of our Consultants come from overseas and go through the same rigorous procedures as any of our UK based doctors, before they are offered as an available locum doctor. Our face to face interviewing assures us of their English language skills, especially helpful due to the EU rules that EU doctors do not have to do the IELTS test before being permitted to work in the UK. In many cases we ask the doctors to do an IELTS test if we feel it is necessary before placing them.If a doctor had worked or comes from overseas we always get a Police Clearance Certificate from any countries in which they are currently working as well as a UK CRB.
Weekly Rates as well as Hourly Rates
We have agreed with NHS PASA/Buying Solutions that although we will normally arrange hourly rates, we are able to continue our long term practice of offering a set weekly rate (still with the commission portion being made clear) if hospitals prefer this. Some doctors also prefer this, as they know how much they will be paid each week for the hours worked. Weekly rates may include some on call, to be prearranged.
Rotas
For 7 years now we have run Consultant Locum Rotas, notably in Radiology and Microbiology where we have supplied a constant stream of Consultants, often with the changeover of each doctor being from two weeks upwards. We are particularly good at this, keeping your paperwork to a minimum and arranging everything. All CV's would be put forward for the Trust's approval in advance and NHS compliant doctors will be used. This also tends to work out at a cheaper rate as we ensure constant cover. The charge also includes any work permit/visas costs of compliant doctors where required.
OISC Registered to obtain Work Permits/Visa's/Tier 2 Applications
The Consultants Agency Ltd has been registered with the Home Office OISC since the end of 2000 so that we can obtain work permits.. Whilst the rules are changing we are applying for the ability to obtain Tier 2 visas. This is advantageous in bringing over highly qualified Consultant compliant doctors from places such as Australia and India where, without our ability to get them the necessary valid visas, they cannot work in the UK.
